Basset Hound as the name implies, they are a member of hound family. Basset Hound is remarkable for its long body with short legs. Basset Hounds are scent hounds, traditionally bred for hunting rabbit and hare by scent as they have noses those are almost outstanding. Basset Hound is an old breed which is direct descended of the blood hound.

Basset Hound History:

While the basset family members of dogs originated in France, the 1 Americans know as the Basset Hound was refined in England in the final portion with the 19th Century. The scent trailing breed was created by French nobility to hunt rabbit, hare, deer and other game that might be taken on foot. The shortness of leg and bulky physique make the Basset Hound in particular beneficial in dense cover. The amusingly shaped body is genuinely really efficient at punching into thickets. Recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1885, the breed had an amazing spurt of recognition inside the 1950s when it was the darling from the marketing world.

Brief glossy coat lies close towards the loose, wrinkled skin
Sheds more than most brief haired dogs
Colors are all hound colors but most generally observed are combinations of black, tan and white and red and white
Minimal grooming

Genetic epilepsy
